Learn to See and Draw the Human Figure in 6 Weeks

  • Progressive weekly lessons; each week builds on the previous.

  • Six sessions, 3 hours each.

  • Registration limited to 9 spots.

  • Students are responsible for their own art materials; see below for materials list

  • Drawing horses and drawing boards are provided.

Each week, we will draw from live models, as well as explore a variety of dry mediums.

Students will be led through a series of exercises designed to engage the hand, eye, and mind. warm-up exercises ?

We will discuss different approaches to seeing-thinking-drawing the human figure, such as abstraction, narrative, conceptual vs perceptual, as well as learning to develop one’s own style.

Proportions of the figure and composition decisions will be taught through demonstrations and individual instruction.

Stephanie is an established multi-Disciplinary visual artist with over 40 years of experience in portrait and figurative painting. Her ability as a multi-disciplinary artist enables her to focus more on leading and fostering students, whether privately or as groups, towards imagination and self-expression in her workshops.

Recently she is the recipient of the 2023 Marty Award, from the Mississauga Arts Council, for the category of Established Artist in Traditional form and her mentorship in the arts for Peel region.
