Explore Abstract Painting with artist instructor, Sue Miller in this fun and exciting class!

This 1-day workshop will appeal to artists who have some experience with painting and want to loosen up or "break out" of traditional techniques and subject matter. If you want to quiet that 'inner critic' and find your unique, creative voice in your work as well as have fun...then this is for you!

The focus will be on "process", "exploration", and transitioning from representational painting to something more abstract, and authentic. Canadian artist Sue A. Miller will guide you through this transition by offering demonstrations and painting exercises that will be informative and lots of fun.

You will also be exposed to using unconventional tools to explore different effects.

Materials List

• Acrylic or Oil Paint - Your choice; bring whatever colours you would like to use

• If you are using Oils, no Liquin - Odourless Mineral Spirits Only

• Spray bottle for water if you are using Acrylics

• 1 - Canvas or Birch Panel (prepared with Gesso) approx. 24"x 24", or 24" x 30" or 30"x 30"

• 3 - sheets of 140lb Watercolour Paper 22"x 30" - Strathmore Paper is fine

• Large Brushes and Scraping Tools, Palette Knives

• Mixing Palette

• Paper Towels or Rags

Please come with no expectations except for Exploration and Pushing Boundaries!
