This 2-day workshop will appeal to artists who have some experience with painting and want to loosen up or "break out" of traditional techniques and subject matter. If you want to quiet that 'inner critic' and find your unique, creative voice in your work as well as have fun...then this is for you!

The focus will be on "process", "exploration", and transitioning from representational painting to something more abstract, and authentic. Canadian artist Sue A. Miller will guide you through this transition by offering demonstrations and painting exercises that will be informative and lots of fun. Video presentations and books will also be utilized for inspiration.

You will also be exposed to using unconventional tools to explore different effects.

MATERIALS LIST:

4 full size (22 x 30) sheets of watercolour or mixed media paper
Canvases or birch panels (minimum size 12" x 12')
Acrylic or oil paint (*if using oil, please do not bring Liquin medium)
Large brushes (minimum 2" wide)
Palette knife (large)
Mixing palette
Rags
Any tools you'd like to experiment with.
