Materials List for Workshops with Darlene Hassall
Canvas: You will need at least one canvas for this workshop. You may bring more if you are feeling you may get more than one painting done! Canvas size is your choice but the following sizes are recommended: 18” x 36”, 20” x 24”, or 18” x 24”.
Acrylic Paints: Bring bright colours that make you feel good! For example: Lime Green, Hot Pink, Bright Red.
Other colours as follows: (You don’t need to have all of these just whichever ones you love to use!) Naples Yellow, Zinc White, Titanium White, Primary Yellow, Diarylide Yellow, Bright Orange, Quinacridone Nickel Azo Gold, Magenta or Light Magenta, Bright Red or Cadmium Red Medium, Dioxazine Purple, Brilliant Purple, Permenant Green Light, Teal or Turquoise, Primary Cyan, Light Ultramarine Blue, Warm Gray, Payne’s Gray.
Acrylic or Paint Markers for lines and outlining or oil sticks. Or you can use small bottles filled with very liquid acrylic.
Selection of brushes.
Palette knives to paint with and also to mix your paints with.
Polymer Medium, Gloss or Semi-Gloss or you can use Gloss Glazing Liquid.
Soft pencil, eraser or your favourite tool for sketching / drawing on the canvas. I recommend using chalk - its easier to remove. Just use colours that will be easy to see on canvas.
Palette to mix paint.
Aprons, Drawing Boards and Table Easels will be provided by the Maggiolly studio. There are a few floor easels, if that is your preference you may want to bring your own.
