Canvas: You will need at least one canvas for this workshop, You may bring more if you are feeling you may get more than one painting done! Canvas size is your choice but the following sizes are recommended: 16” X 20”, 18”x 36”, or 18”x 24”. You may want to wait and decide after we start talking about the project… Maggiolly’s has lots of great priced canvas!

Acrylic Paints: bright colours that make you feel good such as: Lime Green, Hot Pink, Bright Red (may also be used for underpainting). Other colours as follows, you don’t need to have all of these just which ever ones you love to use! Naples Yellow, Zinc White, Titanium White, Primary Yellow, Diarylide Yellow, Bright Orange, Quinacridone Nickel Azo Gold, Magenta or Light Magenta, Bright Red or Cadmium Red Medium, Dioxazine Purple, Brilliant Purple, Permanent Green Light, Teal or Turquoise, Primary Cyan, Light Ultramarine Blue, Warm Gray, Payne’s Gray

Acrylic Paint Markers for Lines and Outlining or oil pastels. Or you can use small bottles filled with very liquid acrylic paint.

Brushes: Selection of Brushes Palette knives to paint with and also to mix your paints with

Polymer Medium, Gloss or Semi-Gloss.

Bring a good size sketch book or paper - plenty! and drawing materials to spend time to practise wonkifying our still life! Soft Pencil, eraser or your favourite tool for sketching/drawing on the canvas. I recommend using chalk - it’s easier to remove. Just choose colours that will be easy to see on canvas. I will bring some if you don’t have any.

Pad of tracing paper, either 8.5” x 11” or 11” x 17”

Containers for water, palette to mix paint. Paper Towels Aprons, Drawing Boards will be provided in the studio. There are a few floor and table easels, however If you have a table easel, you may want to bring your own.
